Fall 2007
It’s amnesty day for your empty
flower pots.
To join
Park City Nursery’s PRE-POTTING PROGRAM
all you have to do is…
1) Bring in your pots without any
dirt in them BEFORE November 1st.
2) Fill out some paperwork on what
you would like planted in them and what kind of sun light and wind
exposure they will be in.
3) Then, we will send them off to
our growers who will start them long before you are even thinking about
them!
4) When June rolls around, we
bring the back for you to pick up looking full, big, beautiful and
blooming.
If you have any questions about our program, please ask!

Old news
still works great, again here are a
few
suggestions for your Autumn Gardening Schedule:
Plant Roots are still actively growing in the
fall so it is an excellent time to get nutrients to them.
Fertilize - Lawns, Trees, Shrubs, Flower Beds
Use
Winterizer, Milorganite, 16-16-8
It is also a
good time to use Fertilizer Tree Stakes as the may actually
dissolve with all the moisture in the soil.
Repellent - Now is the time to prevent Rodent and Deer
Damage that will appear next Spring.
For Voles,
Moles and Mice you may try using Milorganite on your lawn. There
is a new product this year called "Liquid Fence"
which comes with a 100% manufacturers
guarantee - so, no risk to see how it works!
For Deer - Try Milorganite around the base of your trees, Spray
with Repellex, Plant with Repellex Tablets and maybe use some
type of trunk protector - for insurance, spray that too!
Wilt-pruf - Can't say it enough - To protect your
Evergreens from needle desiccation over the winter - Especially
in windy areas (You know who you are), you need to use this
anti-desiccant, NO OPTION if you want your trees to thrive.
Gypsum - Use on your street beds where salt will be used in the
winter. It helps absorb the salt before it gets to your plant
roots.
Gypsum,
as you probably know, absorbs alkali salts in our soils and is a
great soil amendment in conjunction with compost and soil pep.
Compost and Soil Pep - Now is a good time to put a
layer on any exposed soil around trees and shrubs and throughout
the garden. A little bit each season makes a huge difference!
Plant
Bulbs - Don't regret it in April. (We have a delightful
assortment of spring blooming bulbs in stock now.)
Plant Trees and Shrubs - Mountain acclimated trees and
shrubs can be planted now for the jumpstart on next season.
Remember how much you needed a little more shade last summer?
